Another Lark in the Tree

Well I’m employed again, 3bubbles, and life has returned to a more sane state. I actually have a tiny amount of free time and have picked up some personal projects again, so I finally feel like I can have a blog again.

A lot of what I want to write here is for my friends that I keep talking with about my ideas. We bounce ideas off each other and then I end up forgetting it because it happens via the phone or voip, wonderful mediums for rapid idea exhchange, horrible medium for data retention. Two main categories will probably exist, game development and web development.

The game development has been a long standing hobby of mine. With Ryan I’ve built up quite a few game ideas and hope to refine one of them into something that can actually be created before too long. Deciding which of those ideas is the correct one is probalby one fo the first areas I’ll be looking at. I’ll also keep building on all the game ideas as I get random thoughts for them. Hopefully, I can get back into the Ogre3D groove and get some more work done there.

Web development is largely my life. My work at 3bubbles is all web development, so I’ve been learning a lot about the AJAX buzz and have grown to absolutely respect javascript as a language and not just some scripting system for dhtml work. Ryan and I have also been working on taking our knowledge from JabberStudio and working on a new product that is more generic and refined. It’s slow going as we both have day jobs, but we feel pretty passionate about it and expect it to be successful.

So, life is good, I’m happy, and feel like I have something worth sharing again. That is all.
